ARTICLE TWO!
Article two: Three Common Ways We Use the Latest Technology in Our Every Day Life;
It is something we don’t even realise, but we use technology every single day in our lives. If you were to go through your day with out using technology I think you would be surprised what resources you would be left with to deal with. When you wake up in the morning and you use your electric razer, or your hair dryer, it is all technology. To get to work, school or college in the morning, you may take the car or public transport and it is all technology.
You are so use to technology because you were most likely raised around it, but it most certainly plays a large role in every day life. Everything has been modernised even including how you vote nowadays. In some countries the voting system has been modernised and you use a machine, however this is not the case in Ireland. On a night out and you go to the ATM, to take your money out for the night, that is another version of technology you would use with out even noticing. When purchasing items in the supermarket or buying clothes in the shops, everything is digitalised and all put through a machine. But like I said you may not take much notice because it just seems like an every day thing. Everyday technology, you can’t get away from it!

ARTICLE ONE!
Article one: How Social Networking has Changed Advertising;
The article I have chosen is about social networking, meets the world of advertising. The internet has changed our world for ever but the introduction of the oh so famous social networking sites is another thing all together. Social networking and the advertising world now go hand in hand and almost rely on one another. One can’t work as productively without the other. Kind of like two pees in a pod.
Something mentioned in the article was how real estate agents use the internet, technology and social networking sites as a huge aspect in the everyday business. Years ago if you were to put up a property for sale or to let, you would need to go to your realtor and go through the long process of having to wait for your property to be available to the world. It may take up to a good few months until offers are put forward. But now if you need a property to be sold or to rent quickly it is available to the public in a matter of minutes. For property lovers this is most likely the best thing that has ever happened to them. Also works vice versa for people looking to buy property; it makes it fast and efficient for them. One click of a button and they can explore everything available to them. It also creates an easier way to bargain hunt for the best properties most suited for them.
Social networking sites such as “facebook” and “myspace” also play a big role when it comes to advertising. Even on my own personal page, if you on my friends wants something, or needs something or even wants to sell something all they have to do is post it up on the facebook website and it is immediately available to hundreds of people. It is most certainly a fast and efficient approach to advertising something you want. Before the useful technology came about, the norm would be to put an article out in the newspaper, advertising what you wanted to sell and that would generally cost you money and time, whereas nowadays if you want something known to the world all you have to do is post it up, and word spreads fast!
The addiction to these social networking sites has increased immensely over the past couple of years, and much to the advertisements advantage. People will spend up to hours on facebook, or bebo and what appears on the side of their page is almost forcing you to take notice. I highly doubt that this will change anytime soon, in fact I think it will increase! Because technology can only get better.

What to consider when buying yourself a laptop!

NUMERO UNO: The ports. You should make sure that laptop has lots of USB ports for devices such as printer because in our course this is vital as we use it a lot for our projects, flash drive, etc. If your laptop does not come with many USB ports, you will need an USB hub.
NUMERO DOS: CD/DVD. Most of laptops come with a CD writer DVD reader drive. If you want to copy DVDs, you will need a DVD writer drive. At this time the maximum speed for burning a DVD is 16X. This could be useful if you are passing things on to your fellow classmates!
NUMERO TRES:The hard drive. The speed of hard drive is measured in rpm or Rotations per Minute. Try to find a laptop that has 4200rpm or 5400rpm. A laptop with 40 Gigabytes is sufficient for an average person. Also try aim to get one with microsoft office which contains all the vitals for assignments, this is a must!!!!
NUMERO CUATRO: The memory. Your laptop should have at least 1 GB of memory. However, you can get a notebook with 512 MB and work with Windows XP. You should avoid a laptop with only 256 MB of memory. Also you can get attachments which allows you to obtain more memory for your lovely new laptop!
NUMERO CINCO: The processor. You can choose between Intel and AMD. At the moment, Intel has the best processor for a laptop called the Core 2 Duo. The speed of processors is measured in Gigahertz. The bigger the number, the faster the processor is. There are also Dual-Core processors. It means they can process two things at the same time. As a result, the power of the processor is doubled. I have intel and it does me grand!
NUMERO SIES: Size. You should chose one suitable to you, a nice size is a 15inch screen. Its not to big and not too small. Also if you're into the colour aspect, dell have an excellent range of colour, i have a yellow one :)
NUMER SIETE: The warranty. Each laptop computer should come with one year warranty from the manufacturer covering only defective equipment. You can also get an extended warranty covering any accidents you may have. I think this is vital because you never know when some stands on your laptop!
NUMERO OCHO: The brand. Average brand of laptop is Dell, HP, Gateway, Acer and Compaq. The better brand of laptops is Sony, Toshiba, Alienware and IBM-Lenovo. If your into the technology dealy you should go with an apple, they're the best also for creative types.
